Greetings from the land of Mickey!
I have been in Orlando, Florida for the last few days. I am here to participate in a meeting of the Law School Advisory Board for Lexis, of which I have been a member for the last two years. I find these twice-yearly meetings enjoyable and interesting. They are enjoyable because the other members of the Board are colleagues I admire and respect, and they have - through this work - become friends. It is a diverse group of legal educators, including other LRW directors and Associate Deans and Deans of a mix of schools of various sizes, both private and public.
The meetings are interesting because Lexis shares with us information about the company's initiatives, and asks for our input and suggestions. This information is interesting for two reasons: to hear about how a big company such as Lexis is responding to developments in legal education, and also to hear what a diverse group of legal educators tells Lexis about those initiatives. I always learn a lot from my colleagues about what is important in legal education - to me and to other very thoughtful people.
